How To Get Started With WordPress
WordPress is loved by millions. It’s currently used by 35% of all websites and over 60% of all Content Management Systems. Amazing huh! So if you’re not using WordPress for your blog or tiny business, my question is why not?
The best bit about WordPress is it’s free. WordPress is open source software. This gives anyone and everyone complete freedom to use it, build on it and modify it. It’s this complete freedom that’s made WordPress what it is today. So many talented developers have contributed to it’s product development.
So if WordPress is free, why do I need to pay for hosting?
You still need a home for your site. WordPress organizes your pages and posts but you need a place to store all that data and make it available to your viewers. Fortunately, there are some terrific hosting packages for beginner bloggers. All really affordable.
WordPress.org is the free stuff – the fantastic open source software. It’s often confused with WordPress.com, a “restricted” free blogging service. If you want to unlock all the terrific features of WordPress.org, install plugins, and remove the ads, you’d need at least their Business Package which starts at $25/month. It’s just not a great option.
Instead, most bloggers and new businesses start out with a shared hosting package. My favorite for beginners is Bluehost. Find out more about my exclusive Bluehost coupon code for Simply Hatch readers!

The Best WordPress Hosting For Beginners
You tend to get what you pay for in life and that’s so true when it comes to hosting. It’s always worth paying a little extra each month for reliability, speed and security.
The ideal hosting choice depends on your priorities and budget. For complete beginners looking for affordability, Bluehost is a great a place to start and is the No. 1 hosting provider recommended by WordPress.
With a larger budget, and if you’re on the lookout for a top-performing hosting company, WPEngine comes highly recommended. It’s the hosting provider I use on this blog, Simply Hatch, and it’s a good choice if you plan on writing long-form posts that need fast loading speeds.
